Bruce M. Simpson
Practice Focus— Civil Litigation and Business and Employment Disputes

Bruce grew up in Union County, North Carolina, and received his B.A. in 1975 from Davidson College and his J.D. with Honors from the University of North Carolina Law School where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the North Carolina Law Review. He has practiced in Charlotte since 1978, and with James, McElroy and Diehl since 1990. He has handled numerous trials and appeals in State and Federal Courts.

Bruce is admitted to practice in North Carolina State Courts as well as the Federal Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and American Bar Associations along with the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has been certified to conduct mediated settlement conferences in the Superior Courts of North Carolina since 1995, and has conducted and participated in many mediations and arbitrations.

Bruce and his wife, Kathy, have three children and his interests include tennis, basketball and other sports. He is an active member and youth Sunday School teacher at Sardis Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.
