David M. Kern
Practice Focus-- Domestic Relations Law

David's practice deals almost exclusively with domestic relations matters, including child custody, child support, alimony, and equitable distribution of marital property.

David was born in Winchester, Virginia, and attended UNC-Chapel Hill as a John Motley Morehead Scholar, earning a B.A. degree and Phi Beta Kappa in 1975. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1978, and has been in private practice since that time. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the 26th Judicial District and North Carolina State Bar, as well as the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law, State Board of Legal Specialization.

David presently serves on the Family Law Committee for the Mecklenburg County Bar. He was named a "Super Lawyer" for 2008 by Law and Politics magazine. David is active in the community and has held leadership positions in several civic organizations. He previously served as the Senior Warden for Christ Episcopal Church. David and his wife, Tori, have 15 year old twins. He enjoys sports of all kind, particularly tennis.
