ATTORNEYSJohn R. Buric A native of Berkeley, California, John has been practicing law with James, McElroy and Diehl since receiving his J.D. in 1995 from Boston University School of Law. Prior to law school, John spent six years in the Navy, including service aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. After his military service John attended North Carolina State University where in 1988 he received his B.S. (cum laude) in Civil Engineering-Construction Option. John is admitted to practice law before all of the State Courts in North Carolina; all Federal District Courts in North Carolina; the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit; and the United States Supreme Court. John has also conducted numerous arbitration through the American Arbitration Association, the National Association of Securities Dealers, and through other private arbitration groups. John now represents contractors and owners in complex construction disputes, often dealing with complicated surety issues. He also represents clients before various state boards such as the Board of General Contractors, Board of Architects and Board of Plumbers. John is frequently invited to speak on topics related to his practice areas. John is a member of the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association.
