J. Mitchell Aberman

Mickey Aberman’s practice consists primarily of counseling clients on business matters, and negotiating and structuring transactions for mid-sized businesses. Mickey has extensive experience in legal issues that arise in the creation and transfer of computer software and other intangible technology, and with transactions involving complex finance and tax issues. He also works closely with members of the accounting profession and has extensive experience handling matters involving the application of accounting principles and other accounting issues. Approximately fifteen percent of his time is spent dealing with business litigation, usually with one of the firm’s trial lawyers.

Mickey recently served for sixteen years as a board member and officer of Temple Beth El, and has served as an officer and board member of various other organizations. Originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina, he is married to Linda MacDonald, with whom he has three children. Mickey is an active parent in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and enjoys spending time with his children. In addition, he is a licensed pilot, a pretty good amateur economist, and he enjoys golf, fishing and playing music when he has time.
