Dustin L Rapp

Dustin “Dusty” Rapp joined James, McElroy & Diehl, P.A. in 2022. His practice primarily focuses on Family Law matters including divorce, equitable distribution, child custody, child support and spousal support.
Prior to joining JMD, Dusty worked for nearly 11 years as an assistant district attorney in North Carolina, where he gained a wealth of trial experience. As an assistant district attorney, Dusty prosecuted hundreds of major felony cases and tried dozens of jury trials to verdict. Dusty also practices criminal defense, where he relies on his extensive experience in handling cases involving traffic offenses, domestic violence, white collar crime, drug offenses, adult sex offenses, felonious assaults, robberies and homicides.
Dusty grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his Juris Doctor from the Emory University School of Law. Dusty moved to Charlotte in 2017 with his wife, Lauren, and outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and watching Tar Heel sports.
