Kimberly A. Herron
Raised in Durham, North Carolina, Kimberly Herron graduated from Durham School of the Arts in 2005 where she developed an appreciation for the arts, particularly theatre and dance. After graduation, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Kimberly graduated magna cum laude in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Spanish.
Prior to attending law school, Kimberly worked as a Deputy Clerk of Court in the Civil Division of the Mecklenburg County Courthouse, where she gained extensive experience in civil process and family court procedures. After serving in this role for approximately two (2) years, Kimberly went on to attend North Carolina Central University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 2016. While in law school, Kimberly participated in the Family Law Clinic, where she advocated on behalf of parents in abuse, neglect and dependency cases. It was during this time that Kimberly discovered her passion for family law.
Kimberly was admitted to practice law in 2016 and immediately returned to Charlotte, North Carolina to begin her legal career, serving clients in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg and surrounding counties. As a domestic attorney, Kimberly understands that there is no one-size-fits all approach and that every family is unique. She applies her knowledge and experience to develop a tailored legal strategy for each client, focusing on their specific circumstances, objectives and desired outcomes.
Kimberly joined James, McElroy & Diehl, P.A. in 2026 and focuses her practice on family law, including issues related to divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and equitable distribution.
Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her husband and children and binge-watching true crime documentaries. She also enjoys attending concerts and traveling with her family and friends.
