Rebecca Iyoob focuses her practice on family law, including issues related to divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and domestic violence. Born and raised in Charlotte, Rebecca is proud to serve the community she has always called home. 

Rebecca is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Her undergraduate studies laid a strong foundation for her interest in family dynamics and her desire to guide individuals through life’s most personal legal challenges.

Before entering law school, Rebecca worked as a paralegal in family law where she assisted attorneys with case preparation and client communication, gaining valuable experience in legal procedures and client advocacy.

Rebecca received her Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, she was an active member of the Moot Court Board, served as the Chief Symposium Editor of the Elon Law Review, and was a clerk for the North Carolina Pattern Jury Instruction Committee, where she contributed to the development and refinement of the standardized jury instructions used across the state. She also completed her residency with Justice Richard Dietz at the North Carolina Supreme Court.

Rebecca’s connection to James, McElroy & Diehl, P.A. began during law school, where she interned with the firm for two summers. These formative experiences helped solidify her passion for family law and her commitment to serving clients with diligence and care.

Outside of work, Rebecca is most likely doing a puzzle, spending time with her friends and family, eating ice cream at Golden Cow, or trying to find the best spot in town for coffee.
