Custody and Visitation Recommendations During COVID-19
April 13, 2020 (Charlotte, N.C.)—Need help with custody and visitation issues right now? The NC Family Court Advisory Commission (FCAC) recently made recommendations on COVID-19 custody and visitation, which were approved by NC Chief Justice Cheri Beasley on April 13, 2020.
The recommendations (available to view here) provide some guidance to families with existing Chapter 50 custody and/or visitation orders during the COVID-19 pandemic. The recommendations cover various custody/visitation topics, including potential illness, denial of parenting time, supervised parenting time, parenting time in public places, Spring Break/Summer Break definitions, safety-related issues, communication, and more.
