James, McElroy & Diehl Announces Two New Partners

James, McElroy & Diehl, P.A. (JMD) is excited to announce that attorneys Haley White and Bree Laughrun have been elected to the firm’s partnership.

Haley White focuses her practice on family law, including issues related to divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and domestic violence. While in law school, Haley was on the Editorial Board for the Washington & Lee Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice and published an article, “Centralized Prosecution: Cross-Designated Prosecutors and an Unconstitutional Concentration of Power,” 21 WASH. & LEE J. CIV. RTS. & SOC. JUST. 521 (2015). Haley also received the award for Best Brief in the John W. Davis Moot Court Competition. Haley graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She received her Juris Doctor from Washington & Lee University.

Bree Laughrun dedicates her practice to family law and divorce proceedings, including alimony, appeals, child custody, child support, contempt motions, domestic violence protective orders, equitable distribution, name change, post-separation support, premarital agreements, qualified domestic relations orders, separation agreements and step-parent adoptions. Bree has been recognized for the past three years by Super Lawyers and named a “Rising Star” in Family Law in North Carolina. In addition, she was honored in 2019 and 2015 as a Legal Elite Young Gun by Business North Carolina. Regularly involved in cultural and charitable activities in the Charlotte community, Bree is a member of the Mint Museum Auxiliary and a former member of the Verdi Society of Opera Carolina. She also volunteers for Dress for Success and is a Custody Advocacy Program Volunteer for the Council for Children’s Rights. Bree graduated cum laude with a certificate of concentration in Family Law from T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond.
