Litigation Attorney Kathy-Line Kelly Rejoins James, McElroy & Diehl
September 23, 2019 (Charlotte, N.C.)—James, McElroy & Diehl, P.A. (JMD) is pleased to announce that civil litigation attorney Katherine Line Kelly has rejoined the firm. Kathy-Line has worked on cases in a variety of areas, including family law, commercial litigation and appellate practice.
A Charlotte native, Kathy-Line began practicing at JMD in 1991. After taking some time off to be with her three children and husband, Kathy-Line has now returned to the practice of law.
“We are so happy to welcome Kathy-Line back to JMD,” said Catherine Barnes, Managing Partner. “She’s a fantastic attorney, great with clients and really smart. It’s wonderful to have her here again – she’s definitely been missed.”
Upon earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College, Kathy-Line went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable John B. Lewis, Jr. at the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
Kathy-Line currently serves on the Board of Friends of the Library for Queens University. She has also previously served on the Board of Theatre Charlotte. She has historically been active with the Mecklenburg County Bar, including serving as a board member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Mecklenburg County Bar and she was a previous chair of the Silent Partners Committee. In addition, Kathy-Line has volunteered at the Council for Children’s Rights as a Guardian Ad Litem.
