National Business Institute Features JMD Partner Beth T. Hondros as CLE Speaker on Family Law

February 25, 2019 (Charlotte, N.C.)—James, McElroy & Diehl, P.A. (JMD) is pleased to announce that Beth T. Hondros, a partner in the firm’s Family Law practice, will be speaking at the National Business Institute seminar “Divorce Cases from Start to Finish: A Comprehensive Walk Through Divorce.”

The course, designed for attorneys and paralegals, will cover the steps of divorce – from client intake and filing to important considerations concerning child and spousal support, custody, asset and debt division. It is planned for February 25 and 26, 2019 at the Holiday Inn Charlotte Center City.

Beth will be speaking on “Child Support: Guidelines and Calculations” with coverage on calculating child support, imputing income for unemployed, underemployed or self-employed spouses, the impact of the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA), and modifications of child support.

Additionally, Beth will speak on “Spousal Support and Maintenance” and will cover calculating spousal support, temporary vs. rehabilitative vs. permanent support, the impact of property awarded on support, healthcare considerations, and termination or modification of spousal support.

Beth received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Guilford College and her Juris Doctorate from the Wake Forest University School of Law. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Hugh A. Wells of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Although Beth originally joined James, McElroy & Diehl in 1994, she left in 2003 to live in Athens, Greece, where she continued practicing law before returning to the firm in 2009. Today, her practice primarily focuses on the issues of child custody, child support, spousal support (post separation support and alimony), equitable distribution, and domestic violence.
