Pender McElroy Serves as the 2009-2010 Board Chair-Elect of Mental Health America

A mental health advocate, Pender was a member of the Mental Health America Board from 1998 – 2004, serving as Chair of the Affiliate Relations Committee and as the Secretary/Treasurer. He rejoined the Mental Health America Board in 2006, served as the Secretary/Treasurer and now serves as Board Chair-Elect.

In 2004, Pender was the recipient of the Sandy Brandt Award from Mental Health America as Volunteer of the Year.

A practicing attorney in Charlotte since 1969, Pender is the managing partner of James, McElroy & Diehl, and also serves as a commercial arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.
