Giovanni Cordero

Giovanni provides legal assistance and paralegal support to J. Alexander Heroy, Jennifer M. Houti, and Alexandra B. Bachman in complex civil litigation matters, including business litigation, personal injury, civil rights, institutional liability, and other civil matters. He also brings prior experience in immigration and workers’ compensation.

Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, Giovanni moved with his family to Costa Rica at a young age, where he was raised and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Universidad Federada de Costa Rica. His journalism experience included an internship with La Nación, Costa Rica’s leading newspaper, where he published articles on politics and economics, as well as work with the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica in its Department of Public Relations, Press, and Protocol. Giovanni also participated in Punto y Aparte, a Costa Rican collaborative journalism initiative, where he reported on barriers faced by members of the Ngäbe indigenous community in accessing basic civil rights, including nationality recognition, health care, and education. His journalism background strengthened his research, writing, interviewing, fact-gathering, and analytical skills, which he now applies to litigation support, case development, and document review.

Outside of work, Giovanni enjoys science fiction shows and books, podcasts, wrestling shows, live music, theater, good food, and, most importantly, spending time with his wife and their dog and cat.
