Teshia Weeks Purvis

Teshia first joined James, McElroy & Diehl in 1998. For nearly fifteen years, she worked as both assistant and paralegal to Katie Holliday in the areas of domestic litigation and collaborative family law. In addition to being a paralegal, Teshia holds a Master’s degree in Child Development and Family Relations and is a NC Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Prior to leaving the firm in 2012 to return to her hometown of New Bern, NC to pursue her career in the mental health field, Teshia served briefly as a Parenting Coordinator in Mecklenburg County and obtained certification as a divorce coach. Teshia spent most of her seven years away from James, McElroy & Diehl, P.A. serving as therapist to active duty military members at Naval Medical Center, Camp Lejeune, NC. Although she remains passionate about mental health and still practices therapy in her spare time, Teshia returned to James, McElroy & Diehl, P.A. in 2019 and is now paralegal to Beth T. Hondros working on all aspects of family law cases. Teshia’s background brings a unique perspective and skill set to her work as a family law paralegal.
